13-Year-Old Charged in Child Porn Case
A 13-year-old in Washington state took pornographic photos of himself and posted them on the Internet.
Whoops. He was arrested, charged with possession of child pornography, and released to the custody of his parents.
Ironically, I had discussed a similar case with a federal prosecutor about 10 years ago. In that case a photographer I know that taken photographs of himself when he was 12 and held on to them. He was 22 or 26 when I found out about the photos. I asked the prosecutor what my friend should do. “I would advise your friend to delete the photos,” the prosecutor said.
