A Fantastic Fall
The MIT women’s volleyball team capped a highly successful season by advancing to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Division III championships. The team earned the NEWMAC regular-season title and was ranked 24th nationally going into the tournament but fell to Bowdoin in the regional final, ending the season with a record of 30–4. Megan Gebhard ’17 became the first repeat All-American in the history of MIT women’s volleyball. The team’s strong showing was part of an exceptional fall season for MIT: the men’s soccer team also reached the Sweet 16, and the women’s cross-country team finished third in the NCAA national championship race.
