A Helping Microhand for Surgeons
Researchers use magnets to navigate a microgripping “hand” through a coiled tube and to guide it to a dyed bead and a cell mass. The grippers can be actuated to close like a fist around an object by biochemical cues or by an increase in temperature, the means used to make the hand grip the blue bead and the cell mass in these videos.
