Microsoft’s billg is talking to Walt Mossberg on stage. billg looks faintly gynomorphic. Unlike Steve Jobs last night, he is not charming the audience. For some reason his dialogue with Walt (whom I know he likes) has quickly become combatative, its tone off-key. Walt is asking billg why Windows security is so bad. Billg is denying that Windows is particularly insecure–it’s just that Windows is the dominant platform. The D3 crowd respond to this untruth without sympathy.
