I recommend Kim Zelonis’s master’s thesis, AVOIDING THE CYBER PANDEMIC: A Public Health Approach to Preventing Malware Propagation , which I am hosting with her permission. The thesis shows that the analogies between computer viruses and human viruses are more than skin deep. Indeed, by looking at the public health approaches that have worked with HIV-AIDS, Zelonis comes up with some novel approaches for trying to solve the current plague of Malware that is besetting computer users.
