Mark Gorenberg and his spouse, Cathrin Stickney, recently decided to contribute to the new MIT Donor-Advised Fund, a tax-free account maintained by the Institute from which distributions can be made to MIT and other charitable organizations. Gorenberg is the founder and managing director of Zetta Venture Partners, which backs companies working in AI, and Stickney is the CEO of Parity.org, which advocates for women’s representation at the highest levels of business.
Learning from MIT. “MIT taught me to be grounded in the data and never be afraid to take career risks, a great combination that has helped create an exciting life,” says Gorenberg, who earned a degree in electrical engineering and computer science and is a life member of the MIT Corporation and board member of the MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo).
Choosing the MIT Donor-Advised Fund. “Through my involvement with MITIMCo, we can see firsthand the long-term proven track record of excellent returns that MIT achieves,” says Gorenberg. “For us, the MIT Donor-Advised Fund is the perfect vehicle to support both the Institute and other causes outside of MIT.”
