Watch A Plucky Little Robot That Wants to Play

MIT Technology Review meets Cozmo the robot.

Cozmo may only be palm-sized, but this robot isn’t afraid to look you in the eye. The toy uses sensors, facial recognition, and mapping technologies to explore and invite you to play games. The startup behind Cozmo, Anki, was founded by robotics PhDs. They worked with experienced animators to try to create a physical machine that exudes the kind of plucky personality you might see in a Pixar movie character. Cozmo will become available in the U.S. on October 16 for $180.
