Well, the redesign of the Technology Review website (technologyreview.com) is finally in full swing – and that means long days and short nights for the Web operation. We’re all very excited, though. We’ve put together an ambitious plan to overhaul the entire site operation from top to bottom – from the backend to the frontend – so that we can bring you a much-improved user experience.

In the coming weeks, I’m going to blog about what we are doing, because I’ve always found it better to do as much out in the open as possible. For now, let me just say that the three most important principles for this redesign are: complying with Web standards, creating an accessible site, and decreasing load times across the board. Everything that we are doing is measured against those three goals.

For now, I’d like to make an offer to all the TR readers. If you decided you’d like to offer your ideas or thoughts on what we should be doing, you can do that in one of two ways: you can post right here on the blog (I do read your comments); or you can go to URLex, sign up for an account, and then join the public community called “Technology Review.” There, you can surf the Web and leave our design team notes and thoughts by tagging websites you come across.

I promise that I will read and respond to as many notes as I can – primarily through the blog, but sometimes through notes as well.

I look forward to seeing you out on the Web.
