Wi-Fi approved for United Domestic Flights
According to an article in the International Herald Tribune the U.S. regulators approved United Airlines proposal to offer wireless internet networks on domestic flights. Passengers will be able to check email, send instant messages and surf the web while in flight by mid-to-late 2006. – By Brittany Sauser
Processors Receive Aid in Sharing Loads with Dual-Core Chips
According to an article in the Washingtonpost.com, last week rival chipmakers, Advanced Micro Devics Inc. and Intel Corp, introduced two new families of processors. Both AMD’s Athlon 64 X2 and Intel’s Pentium D use dual core designs that put two processors on a single piece of silicon, dividing the work up between the pair. – By Brittany Sauser

Vendors Show Skype, VoIP Handsets
At the Computex exhibition last week in Taipei East Asian hardware makers where seeking to turn the popularity of Internet telephony services and Skype Technologies’ VoIP application into sales with a throng of handsets on display. There was a range of models on display from advanced systems to basic consumer models. Among the most elaborate featured handsets was the PWG-500 dual mode Wi-Fi SIP and GSM phone from Taipei based G-Tek electronics according to PCWorld.com. – By Brittany Sauser
Blackberry has new competition with Microsoft’s Mobile Email
