Bob Sullivan at MSNBC reports that MessageLabs has found Trojan Horse programs hidden underneath the “unsubscribe” links that are in many spam messages.
What will spammers think of next?
According to Sullivan:
Other variations of the attack place keystroke loggers on victims’ computers, he said, enabling the spammer to collect personal information – including passwords and financial account data – from the victim.
MessageLabs says that 72 percent of all e-mail on the Internet is now spam, a figure that seems somewhat low to me.
I am reminded of all those people back in the 1980s who told me to “just hit delete” if I didn’t want to read the messages that they were sending out….
