Tourists used to depend on AAA to tell them where to go on vacation. But now they’re turning to another three-letter acronym: GPS. Here in San Francisco, you can rent a two-person buggy equipped with a GPS-activated audio tour guide; pass by the old Occidental Hotel near Fisherman’s Wharf in one of three-wheeled, gas-powered vehicles from GoCar Rentals and you’re likely to hear how the martini was invented there. The New York Times featured the new service in this week’s Circuits section.
