Augmenting Reality


As more and more computing power and sensors are packed into mobile phones, developers have begun to realize the potential of augmented reality, the merger of virtual information with images and data from the real world. Already, users can overlay information about landmarks and businesses on live images on their phone’s screens. But can such technologies provide more information than a phone equipped with a Web browser? And are there uses beyond travel and entertainment?
