PC Magazine recently announced its People of the Year, and they are Evan Williams, Meg Hourihan, and Paul Bausch, the co-creators of Blogger, and Ben and Mena Trott, the creators and leaders of Six Apart, the company that brought us the Movable Type and TypePad blogging tools.

I’m proud to say that Technology Review beat PC Magazine to the punch. Evan and Meg were among the TR100 Award winners in 2003, and Ben and Mena were included in the TR100 in 2004. (In an oversight that I personally regret, we failed to include Paul Bausch in the 2003 TR100 group. The problem was that we only consider people who have been nominated by friends and readers of the magazine, and Paul was never nominated. But we should have done our homework better.)

In other news from the blogging world, Six Apart this week acquired LiveJournal. That means control of the four leading blogging platforms (Movable Type, TypePad, Blogger, and LIveJournal) is now in the hands of just two companies – Six Apart and Google (which owns Blogger).
