Bert Rutan’s SpaceShipOne touched down safely in the Mojave desert this morning, returning from its second suborbital trip into space in five days. The accomplishment appears to satisfy the conditions of the Ansari X-Prize, a $10 million prize to be awarded to the first team to fly above 100 kilometers – carrying a pilot and the weight of two passengers – twice in two weeks.
