Recently I moved into the Stata Center, the new $500M+ building for the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT. Yesterday the Boston Globe had a nice article about the center.

Of course, it’s better to visit in person. If you can’t, you can visit the center’s website. You’ll see both the photos of the model that was planned and how things actually turned out. Be sure to check out the weekly construction update and the timelapse animation of the project’s construction. Technology Review has a good piece too–pointing out that the Stata Center is MIT’s largest building project since 1916, and reporting that Gehry drew design inspiration from Japanese houses, prairie dog towns, colonial mansions, and orangutan villages.
