According to this article in Techworld, the U.S. Government has bought a 2.5-terabyte RAM disk to accelerate cross-checking through several large Oracle databases.

This will be the largest RAM disk on the planet. The article strongly hints that the disk will be used for a Department of Homeland Security counter-terrorism project. But there is really no way to know for sure.
