According to an editorial in today’s New York Times, there is an ongoing Senate investigation as to whether or not some Republican staff members of the Senate Judiciary Committee hacked into computers belonging to Democratic staffers and then leaked the memos that they found to the Wall Street Journal.

The Times says that the Republicans have tried to change the discussion from the way that the memos have been obtained to the content of the memos themselves, which may show some inappropriate contacts between the Democrats and some civil rights groups.
