A number of European Union politicians (and many citizens) are upset that personal information for airline travelers is being shared directly with the US Department of Homeland Security, according to an article in Wired News.

According to the article, the agreement was negotiated by the EU’s executive brance, the European Commission, which argued that such sharing was legal because privacy protections in the US are “adequate.”

This would be news for many people on this side of the Atlantic.
