Zia Qureshi is a Nonresident Senior Fellow in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution and a consultant to several organizations. He was formerly Director, Development Economics, at the World Bank. His career with the Bank, and previously at the IMF, spanned 35 years. He has written and widely published on global economy and development, including leading several Bank and IMF flagship publications. He represented the Bank at major international forums, including the G20, and served as Executive Secretary of the joint IMF-World Bank Development Committee. He holds a DPhil in Economics from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
