UI/UX Designer (contract/freelance)
The product development team at MIT Technology Review seeks a freelance/contract UX/UI designer candidate to help take designs created for a website redesign project from conceptual state to MVP product launch. This is an exciting new project with a mobile-first orientation. We desire candidates who will be hands-on in applying their design skills, able to provide design leadership through implementation, lead conversations within the product team, and identify/address any gaps in the proposed user experience, as well as help with interface design updates to our custom CMS necessitated by the site redesign.
As a candidate, you should have strong visual design experience, be comfortable with atomic design principles or design systems, and able to build wireframes and prototypes. You should have proficiency with programs like Sketch, InVision, and other design tools. You should also have experience working with product and development teams, ideally on a websites and responsive design projects in the past.
Candidate must be able to start immediately and work on-site for the majority of the engagement. This engagement may last from 2-4 months with potential for full-time employment. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. To apply, please send resume, portfolio, and/or any relevant links to firstname.lastname@example.org.
