Sr. Project Manager, Content Solutions

The primary responsibility of the senior project manager is to be in charge of managing and coordinating sponsored projects under the MIT Technology Review Insights (hereafter “Insights”) portfolio of products which includes: sponsored papers, sponsored articles, digital media, webcasts, podcasts, etc.


Principal duties and responsibilities (essential functions**):

  • Project management of custom content projects. This includes timeline coordination
  • Aiding in the coordination of international custom projects; liaison with the international team
  • Primary liaison between clients and custom editors; building client relationships and maintaining excellent communications with both internal and external partners
  • Coordinating contracts, onboarding, and payment for freelance writers, editors, copy editors, designers and other vendors
  • Scheduling team check-in sessions, project kickoff calls, and other meetings as needed
  • Maintaining current files for all projects in the various company drives
  • Manage vendor sourcing outreach and negotiations, and track project costs and expenditures, in order to help to maintain department profitability and within budgetary guidelines
  • Participate in the ideation process for creating world-class custom content, across multiple platforms, and, when possible, work with the sales team and management on the conceptualization and wording of Insights custom project proposals
  • Take the lead on the management and coordination of events by Insights (sponsored events by Insights for the domestic market and events as part of the Global Panel program)

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years project management experience
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong time management and reporting abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with diplomacy with clients and colleagues
    • Proficiency in Office software suites and PowerPoint and Excel in particular
    • Proficiency in Survey Monkey and other survey tools
    • Experience working with design software preferred
    • Experience organizing and hosting client events
    • Vendor management experience including contract negotiation skills
    • Ability to creatively conceptualize custom content ideas for clients
