Digital Strategy Manager

Cambridge, MA

The Digital Strategy Manager is responsible for implementing and managing all advertising and strategic sales solutions that help achieve our partner goals across all digital, mobile and print platforms. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, extremely detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

  • Work with all business lines (sales, custom editorial and events), to build long term objectives/strategies and meaningful client relationships.
  • Identify and evaluate new lines of business development, including the potential implementation of programmatic advertising platforms
  • Establish strategic partnerships that help further support and amplify the MIT Technology Review brand.
  • Assist with QA testing for launch of new digital products. 
  • Advise and consult with ad salespeople regarding advertising inventory, availability forecasting and campaign performance. 
  • Lead quarterly training sessions that educate sales team on all ad products.
  • Assist with QA testing for launch of new digital products.
  • Build and manage new inventory management platform used by sales and marketing teams. Inventory should align directly with on-going analytics and site structure.
  • Optimize our current sales forecasting system. Built with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
  • Implement, monitor and track online advertisement creative on the website using the ad server, DoubleClick’s DFA.
  • Handle set up of all day-to-day ad placements, scheduling and updates for clients, including rich media ad placements. 
  • Work with advertisers, sales team, web developers/designers to execute requests, optimize campaigns, deliver and traffic ads.

This role reports directly to Vice President of Sales for MIT Technology Review

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales is required.
  • Experience defining sales strategies that drive revenue growth for assigned areas and territory.
  • Strong understanding of the latest digital and/or e-marketing tools preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong time management and reporting abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and with diplomacy with clients and colleagues
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communication, or a related field.
  • Experiencing driving solutions that require complex analysis and interpretation of the circumstances and issues.
  • Working knowledge of publishing within a content management platform 
  • Experience with Ad trafficking software - Doubleclick DART for Publishers (DFP) preferred
