Apple’s Dumb Move
I think Apple comes off looking petty and repressive for its retaliation over the unauthorized publication of a Steven Jobs biography. Playing the bully, Apple Computer Inc. removed dozens of other technology books by John Wiley & Sons in an attempt to persuade them not to release iCon Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business, which goes on sale in about six weeks. Not only is it a dumb move because it’s only sure to generate even more interest in the book, but it makes the company look silly, stupid, tone-deaf and anti-free speech. I hope their retaliation backfires and only succeeds in more copies of iCon being sold.
