According to this article in the New York TImes, the SCO Group will begin sending letters directly to companies using Linux, with warnings that they are using the operating system in violation of SCO’s copyright.

The letter is promised to have more details than SCO’s previous communications. It also offers a grant of amnesty to companies that want to legitimize their copies of Linux by paying license fees to SCO. What they letter will probably fails to note is that such fees are themselves in violation of the license that Linux is actually distributed under — the Copyleft.
