The big news today is that the mozilla foundation has finally launched version 1.5! If you are not using Mozilla, you should.
On my PC, I normally use three web browser: Internet Explorer, Mozilla 1.5, and Firebird. IE is a nice, basic browser, and it integrates well with Windows, and there are a lot of websites that just won’t work properly if you use anything else. But for my serious web browsing, I use Mozilla.
Why? Because Mozilla is faster than IE. And because it doesn’t crash. And because it has a built in Google search. And because it implements style sheets better. And because it has a built-in pop-up ad blocker. And because it is less susceptible to security problems than IE.
Matt Hicks wrote a nice article about 1.5 in eWeek. And of course, you can download 1.5 from http://www.mozilla.org/>http://www.mozilla.org/.
Mozilla 1.5 is the full-featured browser, by the way, complete with the email and news clients. If you just want a browser, go with Mozilla Firebird, now at version 0.7. You can also download Thunderbird, which is the standalone mail and news client, but I don’t care for it much.
