IBM’s research group envisions Blue Spruce as a way for doctors to collaborate without leaving the office. Using the blackboard feature, doctors could look at medical images and point to problem areas by circling them onscreen. If they don’t want to use the system’s audio capability, they can open a chat window instead, or turn off the video and audio altogether.
