Jerome Friedman (1930- ): Discoverer of Quarks
An MIT Institute Professor, American physicist Jerome Isaac Friedman studied under Fermi. Friedman won the 1990 Nobel Prize in physics with colleague Henry W. Kendall for demonstrating the internal structure of nuclear particles, giving the first experimental evidence for quarks.
