To make a new contact, a worker using Atlas could turn to Reach (shown here), a system that operates on the principles of six degrees of separation. The user enters the name of a desired contact, and the program recommends paths to that person through contacts that the user already has. Rather than sending e-mail cold, the user can then get a social introduction to the new contact.
