Shown here is a one-sixth-scale optical test bed built by Ball Aerospace for testing the wave-front sensing and control technology with a small mock version of the mirrors prior to launch. The wave-front sensing and control technology will allow the scientists to move, tip, tilt, and focus each individual mirror.
