  • Microsoft's Many Multitouch Mice

    Microsoft’s five multitouch mouse prototypes–the Orb, Arty, Side Mouse, FTIR and Cap Mouse–are demonstrated in this video. Each mouse combines traditional functions, such as click and drag, with the ability to use simple gestures to zoom or browse photos.

  • Merging Video with Maps

    A new system uses panoramic images to create navigation videos that highlight turns and landmarks.

  • Light-Switched Drug Delivery

    This three-dimensional micrograph shows a living cell (shown in green) with engineered capsules (shown in red) inside. An electric shock was applied to the cell to get the capsules inside. While that approach works well in vitro, the researchers hope to come up with a more acceptable approach for clinical applications.

  • Teaching Robots New Tricks

    An autonomous helicopter performs a slew of tricks using a flight path based on video analysis of the maneuvers. The helicopter automatically adjusts its course during flight to account for changes in wind speed.
