Job Title: VP of Marketing and Customer Intelligence
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Cambridge, MA

Description:
Reporting to the CMO, this individual helps to refine, direct, and execute Forrester’s marketing processes to support demand creation and the achievement of Forrester’s business goals. This individual furthers Forrester’s efforts in quantitative marketing and customer intelligence by strengthening and extending our capabilities in the areas of database marketing, lead management, marketing measurement and analytics, predictive modeling, and market research/customer analytics. This person serves a key role on the marketing leadership team, enhancing our culture of action, accountability, learning, and results.
Responsibilities:
Marketing and Customer Intelligence
* Evolve Forrester’s marketing database and database analytics capabilities to best-in-class levels.
* Leverage our database to derive insights for refining our inbound and outbound marketing strategies and tactics
* Pursue a rigorous fact-based understanding of our customers and their behaviors to inform better product management, product marketing, and go-to-market decisions.
* Advance Forrester’s cross-sell and up-sell results through the development and advancement of a robust predictive analytics capability.
* Coordinate and direct voice of the customer and market research efforts within marketing and the product teams to provide a unified and consolidated view of Forrester’s customers and marketplace.
Measurement and Lead Management
* Drive sales performance by supporting and innovating the lead development and conversion process and maintaining a close working relationship with sales.
* Evangelize and champion the refinement and improvement of Forrester’s lead measurement and tracking system to drive increased marketing effectiveness and efficiency in a closed-loop marketing environment.
* Build and innovate existing metrics and measurement processes to evaluate and enhance product marketing initiatives and programs to roll up to broader business imperatives and key performance indicators.
* Manage, implement, and improve Forrester’s client satisfaction survey; understand the key drivers of satisfaction; socialize those insights; and recommend programs leading to better client retention and enrichment.
Marketing Management
* Lead the database marketing and customer analytics team.
* Serve as a member of the corporate marketing management team, participating in key marketing decisions and policy for the company.
* Work closely with key stakeholders -- sales, sales management, research, managing directors -- to socialize and instigate action against key learning and customer insights.
* Evangelize for marketing and actively demonstrate the value and leadership marketing can provide.
* Provide a broad-based business perspective and marketing acumen to ensure that marketing is aligned with business goals and is a leading influence in setting company strategy and driving execution against those strategies.
* Drive process and technology change management to enable advances in marketing capabilities and impact.
* Ensure a collaborative relationship with IT.
Requirements:
* Twelve-plus years of marketing experience in marketing management, spanning product marketing, database and direct marketing, market research and analytics
* Five-plus years of experience at the management level in marketing business-to-business services within professional services, research, or market intelligence service industries
* Demonstrated success within the past two years with programs that leveraged customer intelligence and analytics to drive increased customer usage, loyalty, or client acquisition
* Strong analytical skills -- drawing conclusions from data, developing multiple scenarios, and thinking rationally about programmatic solutions
* Strong budget and financial acumen and proven success in managing high performance teams
* Working knowledge of Siebel or other CRM system; ability to use and realize benefits of these systems
* Track record of strong teamwork and collaboration with all levels of an organization
* Superb communication skills
* Hands-on attitude, demonstrated willingness to tackle projects, and impeccable follow-through on commitments
* Experience working in global markets is preferred
* Action-oriented, can-do attitude required as is willingness to smile, have fun, and make the world a better place
