United States
Date Posted 2/24/2009
      Job Description
I am seeking a new Cleantech/Digital Media Trade & Investment Officer for a key role with the British Consulate in Cambridge/Boston area.
The Consulate has spent the last 18 months developing key relationships with State and regional leaders, CEO''s/C-level executives and with trade and business associations in the Cleantech and Digital Media sectors. We now need sales/business expertise from either sector to work with New England companies to assist them to enter the UK market, and to guide British companies entering the US. As knowledge/expertise in both sectors is unlikely in one person strength in either would be great - with the ability to learn quickly!

The ability to build an incredible rolodex, meeting and making contact with VIP''s in both industries in both the US and UK, and contributing to a prestigious enterprise are key benefits to this role. Im seeking an energetic sales focussed individual who like to be out meeting companies, developing and delivering marketing activities and who is keen to make a contribution to our teams wider efforts.

Based in the British Consulate at One Memorial Drive, Cambridge - the compensation package includes salary of $66,000, 16 days holiday + 12 public holidays (for which the Consulate is closed), 401k contributions, life insurance and great medical (including dental and vision) and flexible working practices.

The role includes a good deal of breakfast and evening networking to build contacts. While the role will involve minimal travel outside of New England - this year will include at least one opportunity to lead a group of New England cleantech businesses on a VC / business development / speaking tour of the UK and another two weeks of  briefings to update knowledge and make connections.

Now with two master’s degrees, a PhD, and five patents under his belt, this PE manager at Freescale Semiconductor has found success on an entirely new playing field.
