Competeis recruiting an outstanding individual to help grow its Boston-based Telecommunications and Media practice.  TheTelecommunications & Media practice at Compete is revolutionizing the waythat the industry uses the Internet as a marketing, distribution, customerrelationship and consumer research channel.

The SalesDirector will be responsible for leveraging Compete’sproprietary data set of consumer behavior and survey capabilities to developand deploy new data-driven intelligence services that will create immediatevalue for the Telecommunications and Media industry.  The Sales Directorrole will focus on the marketing and sale of Compete’sproducts and services to new and existing clients and be responsible fordeveloping the messaging, approach, and execution of all client acquisitionstrategies.  Sales Directors have the potentialto develop their focus areas into sub-practices for them manage. 

Specificresponsibilities include:

  • Develop marketing and sales plan to target immediate revenue opportunities from both the existing client base as well as new prospect opportunities within the wireless, cable/satellite, telecom, media, and consumer electronics arenas.
  • Manage all outbound correspondence, messaging, and collateral regarding Compete’s products and services (Online Channel Effectiveness, Pre-Churn Intelligence, Device Demand Measurement, Search Intelligence, Advertising Effectiveness, Point of View Analyses, etc.)
  • Project management – assist in the configuration of new products and services based on client needs, market appetite and industry experience;
  • Creatively combine observed consumer behavior data with survey capabilities to develop tailored approach to individual prospect objectives;
  • Perform analysis of consumer marketing issues and business practices using large datasets of online behavior and survey responses to create compelling ROI for prospects;
  • Manage and grow relationships with clients in the Telecommunications and Media industry;

Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of experience in the Internet, consulting, consumer marketing or telecommunications and media industries;
  • Strong contact networks within telecommunications and media
  • Experience making consulting-oriented presentations to executive-level audiences;
  • Experience performing market research and analysis using large data sets;
  • Strong analytical writing skills and attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and managing long-term client relationships;
  • Enthusiasm for the Internet and web 2.0
  • Outstanding personal reference required.
