President Obama will emphasize jobs and American competitiveness on Tuesday in the State of the Union address. We'll be covering what he says, and what it could mean for technology, especially energy technology, talking to various experts on the subject. But we'd also like to hear from you. What should Obama talk about in terms of energy, climate change, and innovation?

For starters, the President should clearly admit that anthropogenic global warming is a hoax designed to allow government (national and world bodies) to control people's lives to an even greater extent than it already does. He should admit that his silly Cap and Trade scheme is likewise a government power grab that will result in higher prices for almost every product or service that makes life work. He should clearly admit that initiatives like the Kyoto Protocol are examples of bad economics, bad politics and bad science. Only THEN could a workable energy policy begin to be formulated. Of course, that would require a courageous display of knowledge, wisdom and non-political candor on his part -- subjects that are as foreign to Mr. Obama as are White House black-tie receptions to Pres. Hu.

THE PRESIDENT SHOULD ADMIT THAT IT IS TOO LATE TO PREVENT CLIMATE CHANGE AND CONCENTRATE ON MITIGATION MEASURES INSTEAD.

A WPA PROJECT TO CONSTRUCT A SEA WALL AROUND MANHATTAN, NOT TO MENTION FLORIDA, WOULD PUT A LOT OF PEOPLE BACK TO WORK.

He should ackowledge Global Warming has been an ongoing event since the last Ice Age ended since we can prove the oceans have been rising since Alexander the Great built his harbor in Alexandria Egypt.

The phrase Cap and Trade should sytematically be erased from the Democratic Party's dictionary and be replaced with phrases like efficiant use of limited resources. So far nobody wants their life styles impacted by leglislation of any type

Robotics

I think it important that Pres. Obama say the word "*robotics*" in his speech. It would also be a motivating factor for the industry because, up until now, he has not used the word "robotics" in any of his manufacturing and stimulus initiatives. To do otherwise would be giving in to pressure from the unions and their fear of jobs loss.

We don't want to continue to lose presence in this industry yet we will unless there is strategic direction from the Administration.

I really hope he says the word; I'm afraid he won't.

He probably won't, but I do agree with you! and this is a route we already understand well. All we need to do is implement it fully. Innovation shouldn't be something to be afraid of, or bold steps forward.

Energy Policy

We need a specific Energy Policy for the US that spells out shifts in funding from petroleum and coal subsidies to new renewable systems.

We need an Imported Oil Policy that makes it mandatory that the Suppliers need to secure their products in order to bring them to market and not involve the US military. Free Markets should provide adequet resources for this, so we can shift trillions of US tax dollars to pay for new domestic energy solutions (owned by the US Taxpayers).

We need mass transit solutions that replace the individual automobile for day to day commuter needs.

We need to reinvent Air Travel that results in wise energy consumption. Lighter than Air trasnportation moves faster than land based inter-city rail, needs no right of way for tracks and can be designed as double duty platforms to move large amounts of materials, not just people.

Existing as 'diagnosed and/or non-diagnosed' . . . Autistic Souls are virtual Pariahs, compelled to Silence, by Society's 'Ears' which can neither listen nor hear, 'Eyes' which neither look nor see!

Ignored: 'Multifaceted' Aspects of 'Hypothetical, Conceptual, Critical' Thinking, of which there can be a great amount . . . 'Innovations' may Cascade from the psyche, though sans 'sight and sound, those multitudes of 'Innovations' are nothing!

The Lady, who knows 'How Bovine Creatures Think'! She at least was finally 'taken into 'Society's Tent'; subsequently, hundreds/thousands? of Bovine Creatures 'departed' their Earthly existence with comparative 'peace' and 'contentment'!

As Nothing can be done about it anyway, Who would trouble to think about 'Hurricane Mitigation'? Or 'fighting a Wildfire' before the Fire Tetrahedron has formed, and positing subsequent 'erasure' of integral sections of such Fire Tetrahedron, once it has formed . . .

Physics is not exclusive proprietary province of brains in laboratories . . . Society neglects to associate Autism with Savantic potential; thus, never knowing which minds think what thoughts, nor how vast 'The Universe' of the mind . . . mine keeps me well occupied and entertained, though, 'Pariah' status?, makes this one wonder: "Who is really 'Out/Inside-the-Box' and Who, for want of an Open Door, is Really Free?
