Correction to "Ultra-Efficient Gas Engine Passes Test"

The article incorrectly implied the endorsement of an MIT professor.

An article earlier this year called, "Ultra-Efficient Gas Engine Passes Test," about technology from the California startup Transonic Combustion, quoted William Green, an MIT professor, as saying that Transonic's approach "may be a promising way to improve on conventional direct injection."

While the quote is accurate, the story should have made clear that Green has not seen detailed data about the technology, and was not endorsing it. A correction has been made to the story.
