Solar cycles are determined by center of mass of solar system, the location of which is switching the circulation of solar plasma beneath the surface of Sun by Coriolis force. Jupiter planet (being the most massive planets of solar system) determines the eleven years long period of solar cycle.

After then it's logical, other planets would violate the periodicity of this cycles. Maybe ancient astrologers were quite right, when they predicted natural disasters and wars for sources from conjunctions of planets.
