July/August 2007 Women's Leadership ConferenceBy TR Editors
Karen Spencer '86 (center) and other participants at the Women's Leadership Conference: Changes, Challenges, Choices, held March 31 in San Francisco, enjoyed diverse breakout sessions. Topics included issues arising in professional fields such as medicine, health care, entrepreneurship, and venture capital, as well as work-life integration and the value and impact of mentoring. The conference, hosted by the MIT Alumni Association, followed a successful 2005 women's leadership conference on campus. To learn more online about topics discussed at the '07 conference--which included a keynote by Laura D'Andrea Tyson, PhD '74, who discussed the World Economic Forum's 2006 report on the global gender gap--visit alum.mit.edu/lt/learning/wlc/.
